Not the best!

Actually I was being kind with my title. Hands down one of the worstpinpointers out there. No depth, falses and unreliable. The only one worseis the Pistol Probe. Both are bad buys. The Garrett Pro-Pointer AT and theNew XP Deus MI-6 are without a doubt the 2 best pointers sold today.

Embarrassing.

Bought new. Been facepalming ever since. I run a minelab detector but thepro find 25 is a really a very poor performer and disappointment. I'vebought an 1st gen garrett propointer 2nd hand from a guy whilst my newprofind goes back to minelab to check if it is a dud.
Don't getme wrong, my pro find DID kind of work, but it 'kind of worked' very slowlyand had poor depth. The funny thing is is that the minelab profind blew thegarrett away on air tests. I compared it to the Garrett before I bought theGarrett and was having second thoughts as the air tests on the minelab werebetter. However I had used a propointer before and knew they worked in thefield. If your trying to recover baubels on a Christmas tree, as a blindman, then the profind will give you a better performance, no doubt. But ifyou use it to recover targets in the ground, ANY ground, then think again.
Minelab MUST go back to the drawing board on this. Not fit forpurpose in my view. Minelab should be embarrassed for releasing this tomarket in its current form.

Maybe third best?

I currently own both a 'first gen' Garrett Pin-pointer and the waterproofAT Pro-pointer and was the prior owner of a Minelab Pro-Find 25. Here's mytake on the three.
The Pro-Find 25 has more adjustment optionsthan the first gen Garrett. Options such as sensitivity and silent mode aswell as the lost mode. When it comes to putting these two down a hole theGarrett wins in my book. It's louder and has a stronger and more variablevibration, which is key in making a quick recovery.
The Minelab seemsvague by comparison and I found myself not really knowing where the objectwas in the hole. The Minelab is more sensitive to smaller objects I give itthat but I feel the Garrett wins in all the other categories.
Thenewest Pro-pointer known as the carrot takes it to another levelaltogether. It not only adds the water proof element to the mix, it has asensitivity adjustment and silent mode along with lost recovery. Thepro-pointer is also more sensitive than both of the others and it my choiceof the best pin-pointer of the three. I can't say it's the best out thereas I haven't tried the White's nor the Nokta units.
The GarrettPro-pointer is the best one I have used in my 30 years of detecting. I soldmy Minelab and am sticking with the Garrett units. Happy Hunting!

Brand hype

I bought this pinpointer at the same time as a Garrett Pro. The Garrettblew it away. The Minelab regularly fails to lock into detect mode and hasto be restarted. It is nowhere near as sensitive either. Yes, the minelabhas extra functions.. But in the field, the Garrett Pro is superior. Saveyourself the extra money that Minelab costs and get a Garrett.

Great pinpointer

I got the Pro-Find 25 with my new E-Trac. I had never used one before, butit didn't take me long to get to love it! The Pro-Find is accurate, andgives a good, strong audible signal. Its depth range of about 2 1/2-3inches is great for a pinpointer. The LED light really comes in handy, too.

Works great

I purchased the Minelab Pro-Find about two weeks ago and couldn't behappier. I had a Fisher F-point before, and it is nowhere near as sensitiveor useful.
I have been searching a local park and pulling out coin after coin quicklyand with far less digging than I have been used to. When I find a goodtarget, all I need to do is make a hole just big enough for the end, and Ican locate and pop out a coin quickly.
It is also sensitive enough to detect coins 1-3 inches from the surface.I've even gone back to spots where I dug holes and came up empty handed, and located the targets quickly. I haven't used any of the other high endpinpointers but I can definitely vouch for this one.
